I hate how I manage to notice
EVERY.
SINGLE.
IMPERFECTION.
I’ve had a lot of fun over the past 1,800 miles, but I haven’t really done anything crazy yet. With my speeding ticket I got 2 months ago (that I got reduced from 4 points to 1) and cops seemingly on every corner here, I’ve decided to play it safe...for now.
I love the S4. It basically does everything seamlessly and has a lot of power to match, I still find myself missing my S60R. While the S4 is better in just about every way than my late Volvo (minus the R’s simplicity), I guess I miss the uniqueness, and being able to confidently say the condition is a 9.5 out of 10 (my R was in absolutely perfect/showroom condition even at 93K).
That being said, clean or dirty - the Vo’s replacement is sexy :)

Nice ride. The number of imperfections in mine is depressing but what do u want for 177000 miles

Again, my Volvo spoiled me. While the S4 has 78K and probably rates a 7.5 out of 10 for condition, the Volvo was just so pristine.

Even if you’d bought a Bentley or a Roller you’d see imperfections. The closest to a perfect car I’ve ever had was a ‘91 CRX Si ... but I drove it back and forth to U MD and nowhere else. Sold it with about 13K on the clock in 1993 because we could not justify 2 cars, and my then GF needed my ‘88 Camry wagon 5M to transport her double bass. But that Honda was spotless, and I sold it for within 500 bucks of what I paid for it. What a great little car.

I still find this car easy to fap to.
Would daily. 10/10.
Also, I completely agree.

I went from a 2014 WRX to a 2003 Allroad... The WRX spoiled me

A 6MT S4, that has to be one rare Audi, or at least super uncommon, not an Audi fan by any mean, but nice car

Thanks. I don’t know if I’d call a manual S4 rare, but it certainly is uncommon enough that if you ask an Audi dealer for one, they basically ask you to get on the list. I knew I was getting an S4, but this one just so happened to be the one I test drove with no intention of buying. However, it’s rarity (it has every feature offered for 2011, including adaptive cruise control and power rear sunshade, which basically no S4 has) and price (only $24,500) led to me cave on this one.
I wasn’t much of an Audi fan, either, but this one is changing me. The craftsmanship is superb, it handles like nothing else, and it’s anonymous enough to avoid most cops.

My 2011 M3 took me like 2 months to fine, it was a pain in the ass, but I was adamant I wanted a 6MT. I like how BMW saves the best for M cars, my 128i and my dad’s 135is have inferior leather and everything is just 5-10% better in the M, it makes sense why these things cost more. Why did you go for the Audi if you weren’t much of an Audi fan to begin with?

Looking good. Imperfections are going to happen. Just take a breath and think can I fix it? If you can, brilliant, if not then you’ve just got to say ‘hey, I’ll tidy it up a little and get it sorted at another time’.

I wanted:
- Luxury
- Power
- Manual Gearbox
- Craftsmanship
- 4 Doors
- AWD (I live in Colorado)
With that, I’m basically looking at a 335xi (I could only afford an E90), a 535 x-drive (I’m too young for that), a Subaru WRX (not luxurious), an ATS (poor reliability), or maybe a TL (which I didn’t even bother with). I did consider a Cayenne Manual, but it was too hard to find and a bit too pretentious.

How is it with the proper pedals. I had a 13 with the 7 speed DSG and I hated it. Sold it after 6 months.

Lol, oh it’s gonna get fixed. I’m dropping about $1,000 USD in October for paint correction and a new clearbra.

I never bothered driving the DSG, despite every Audi Dealer I went to, trying to sell me one when they didn’t have a stick. The gearbox is great - granted, the past two cars I owned had difficult gearboxes (S60R and Wrangler). It’s amazing though how much the driving setting (comfort, auto, dynamic, individual) effect the gearbox. In auto, it’s a lot more laggy than in Dynamic or Individual).
I’m interested in trying the automatic, but I doubt it’ll sway me. Was it that bad?

That’s fair enough, actually makes a lot of sense
a 535 x-drive (I’m too young for that)
My dad went from a Buick Regal to a 135is, I’m a lot less inclined to care about age when thinking about cars. It wasn’t his midlife crisis, just wanted something that was fun to drive now that he didn’t have to pay for me or my sister.

Agreed...but the current 5-Series is a bit too soft for me.

I’ll agree with that, the F1o is a little soft

The TCU has (had?) lots of issues at the time. It wasn’t like driving a sequential manual, it felt more like driving a CVT with paddles. Awful.
